Frequently Asked Questions

How can I find the model number of my G-Shock?

The model number of your G-Shock can be found on the back of the watch and on the packaging.

What should I do if my strap is becoming discoloured?

Watches with resin or leather straps are often susceptible to colour transfer. Continuous contact with other items and/or storing with other coloured items for extended periods of time can cause the colour of resin components to transfer onto other items (and vice versa). Timepieces with lighter coloured straps are more susceptible to colour transfer, so user should take care when wearing as this is not covered under warranty.

Some straps can also be discoloured when used around chemicals. Lotions such as sunscreen, fake tan & cleaning chemicals can cause discolouration. If the watch comes into contact with any chemical, wash thoroughly with cold water & a small amount of eco-dishwashing liquid.

Is my G-Shock waterproof?

Yes, all G-Shocks are waterproof to 20-bar (200 metres). This covers all water activities except scuba diving. The ISO200 models can be used scuba diving.

I purchased my G-Shock overseas, am I able to get it repaired in New Zealand?

G-Shock NZ can service all watches. Watches which include the international warranty card will be serviced under warranty.

How can I tell if my G-Shock is parallel imported?

Always check you are purchasing from an Authorised New Zealand G-Shock re-seller. Many G-Shock online stores imitate that they are New Zealand stores (such as “.co.nz” websites), but in fact ship from overseas. These unauthorised websites are also known to supply imitation or fake G-Shock watches. If you are unsure, please check with us via the contact form to ensure you are purchasing a genuine G-Shock article.
