MRG-B5000R
Effortless strength and beauty: Staying true to origins and constantly innovating
In the MRG-B5000 series, the iconic design of the first-ever G-SHOCK is re-expressed with a passion for quality befitting the flagship line of the brand. A multi-component bezel enables precision polishing, and the use of COBARION®, a super-hard alloy, enhances the metal texture of the mirror finish. The new addition of a Dura Soft band made with fluoro rubber material ensures a comfortable fit. Featuring a construction employing artisanal techniques and leading-edge technologies, plus further refined materials and finishes, this timepiece captures the beauty of form of the original G-SHOCK, which hit the scene in 1983, now in an evolved design that only heightens the iconic look.
Sophisticated polished finish realised with a multi-component structure
The bezel is formed from a total of 25 separate components instead of a single piece. Each part is polished prior to assembly to give the watch a sophisticated finish by skilled craftspeople, right down to the most challenging spots like recessed portions.
Multi-Guard Structure to support the multi-component structure
We developed the Multi-Guard Structure to protect the module in a bezel formed from many separate components. It incorporates four-cornered suspension componentry combining T-shaped bars and flat springs to provide excellent shock-absorption. The top bezel is made with COBARION®, an alloy boasting a hardness about four times that of pure titanium and a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum.
*COBARION® is a registered trademark of the Iwate Industry Promotion Center and is manufactured exclusively by Eiwa Corporation.

Dura Soft (fluoro rubber) band for a comfortable fit on the wrist
The band employs fluoro rubber — a soft, comfortable material offering strong resistance to discolouration, staining, and deterioration over time. Insert-moulding of titanium components enhances the strength of the band’s connection to the case. A one-touch, tri-fold clasp makes the band easy to attach and remove. The use of titanium materials offers enhanced textural appeal. The band features textured patterns inheriting design motifs maintained since the very first G-SHOCK, with “SHOCK RESIST” symbols on the top surface and a brick pattern on the underside.
*The orientation of the case back may vary from watch to watch due to details of the manufacturing process.
Black and gold accents inherited from the original lineup
An homage to the colour scheme of the DW-5000C-1B, the gold-accented version of the very first G-SHOCK. A black DLC coating is applied to the exterior and a gold IP finish to the side buttons. The face features gold accents as well. The contrast between the black and gold sets the watch off with a look of toughness befitting the G-SHOCK brand.
