Evoking the philosophy of the Japanese sword, the titanium band is crafted by Gassan to resemble a tang. This hidden, but pivotal part of the sword is traditionally marked with a yasuri-me pattern to keep the blade firmly in the handle. Gassan hand-carves the watch band with these marks and with 鍛 and 錬 inscriptions as a symbol of his family’s devotion to swordsmithing.
