G-Shock announced today the release of new G-SHOCK shock-resistant watches. The three new compact GMA-P2100 timepieces bring vibrant monochromatic colors to the 2100 line, popular for its iconic octagonal bezel.
Casio has in recent years been downsizing popular G-SHOCK watches to build a more extensive lineup of compact all-gender models.
The new GMA-P2100 watches feature the octagonal bezel and minimalist face design for which the 2100 line is known, but in vibrant colors and a smaller sized shock-resistant profile that is easy to wear.
The case of the new watches is 2.7 mm narrower, making it 94% the size of conventional GMA-S2100 models. The band length has also been shortened by some 10 mm to make it easier for those with smaller wrists to wear. The watches come in vibrant turquoise blue, bright pink, and white monochrome color schemes. Light and dark shades of the same color are used for different components, including the dial, index marks, and hands, to give the streamlined face a look that both has depth and dimension and is easy to read. The bezel and band are made with bio-based resin, a material expected to help reduce environmental impact.
Casio will continue to enhance its lineup of gender-neutral G-SHOCK timepieces, ensuring easy wearability for the ever-diversifying G-SHOCK fan base.

G-Shock announced today the release of a new addition to the MR-G line, the flagship of the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches. The new MRG-B5000R inherits the iconic shape of the very first G-SHOCK — representing the brand’s point of origin — and features a highly comfortable Dura Soft band.
Based on the concept of delivering “the ultimate in toughness-driven watches,” the MR-G line sits at the pinnacle of the G-SHOCK brand, incorporating state-of-the-art technology and master metalworking techniques. Inheriting the iconic form of the original G-SHOCK, the original MRG-B5000 was released in 2022. Featuring a bezel with the Multi-Guard Structure to enable precision polishing, the watch employed cutting-edge materials including COBARION®, a super-hard alloy, finished with master polishing craftsmanship. With features such as these, it has proven very popular as the flagship model of the G-SHOCK brand.
The new MRG-B5000R builds on the MRG-B5000, employing a soft, comfortable Dura Soft band to offer flexible ease of use befitting the flagship line of the G-SHOCK brand and deliver suitability for both formal occasions and active situations. The Dura Soft band offers strong resistance to discoloration, staining, and deterioration over time, while insert-molding of titanium components also enhances the strength of the band’s connection to the case. The band features a soft, comfortable textural feel, offering a snug fit even when engaging in rigorous activities. A one-touch, 3-fold titanium clasp adds stylish flair to the design.
The watch design is an homage to the color scheme of the DW-5000C-1B, the gold-accented version of the very first G-SHOCK. A diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating is applied to the case and a gold IP finish to the side buttons. The face features gold accents as well. The band incorporates textured patterns inheriting design motifs still going strong since the very first G-SHOCK, including “SHOCK RESIST” symbols and the brick pattern. While inheriting design elements from the original model, the watch combines characteristic G-SHOCK toughness and beauty with a look all its own.
G-Shock announced today the release of new additions to the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches. The three new GW-B5600CD watches are the brand’s latest collaboration with the Charles Darwin Foundation, an organization that engages in environmental conservation activities in the Galápagos Islands.
The Charles Darwin Foundation is an international nonprofit organization committed to conserving the natural environment of the Galápagos Islands. The organization is involved in a range of activities, including surveying the Galápagos Islands’ marine and terrestrial life and ecosystems and promoting island nature conservation efforts. The latest collaboration model marks the second partnership between G-SHOCK and the Charles Darwin Foundation, following the first in 1999.
The new GW-B5600CD shock-resistant watches feature designs incorporating silhouettes of creatures that live in the Galápagos Islands, along with the rich natural environments where they live. While based on the GW-B5600, a timepiece equipped with radio wave reception and Tough Solar charging capabilities, the new GW-B5600CD watches feature a bezel and band made with bio-based resin produced using renewable organic resources.
Each of the three watches features a face with a unique design motif: a hammerhead shark in an ocean environment for the GW-B5600CD-1A2; a Darwin’s finch amid the foliage of a Scalesia forest, one of its preferred habitats, for the GW-B5600CD-1A3; and a Galápagos giant tortoise in a rocky location, one of its preferred habitats, for the GW-B5600CD-9. Silhouettes of each featured creature also appear on the LCD when the backlight is illuminated.
The Charles Darwin Foundation logo is engraved on the case back, and a Spanish-language statement meaning “I support Galápagos conservation” is printed on the band. A portion of the proceeds will be used to support the Charles Darwin Foundation’s conservation activities.
G-Shock announced today the release of new additions to its line of shock-resistant G-SHOCK watches, designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the G-SHOCK brand. The new GCW-B5000UN, available in two models, joins the 5000 line, inheriting the iconic form of the very first G-SHOCK and employing carbon materials to achieve both high strength and reduced weight.
With the 1983 launch of the DW-5000C — the first-ever G-SHOCK — the brand established an entirely new product category: the “tough watch.” Out of a never-ending passion to deliver toughness, in recent years more G-SHOCK watches have employed carbon materials, which deliver strength seven times that of stainless steel, as well as light weight. Today, G-SHOCK watches are made with resin, metal, or carbon, with more than one of these materials sometimes combined in a single model.
The new GCW-B5000UN joins the 5000 line of watches that inherit the iconic shape of the first G-SHOCK. Now, however, it achieves the shock-resistant form with components made using carbon materials created in different production processes.
The timepiece employs different types of carbon materials for the case, bezel, band, and clasp to accommodate the watch’s complex structure, achieving a light weight, at just approximately 65 g, 61% lighter than its full-metal predecessor, the GMW-B5000D made with stainless steel, which weighed around 167 g.*1
*1 Weights are catalog-specified values.
Forged carbon,*2 which enables molding with a high degree of flexibility, is used for the bezel and band, while multilayer carbon is employed for the clasp’s folding arm due to its high bending strength. Also, the monocoque case and integrated case back are made with carbon fiber-reinforced resin.
The design combines the G-SHOCK never-ending commitment to innovation with imagery inspired by the unfathomable, infinite expanse of outer space with a motif inspired by the Big Bang and galactic planets. The two-model lineup offers a choice between purple, featuring mixed-color molding with opal specks,*2 and basic black. Features including a G-SHOCK 40th anniversary logo designed by graphic artist Eric Haze engraved on the underside add extra-special touches.
*2 Due to the characteristics of forged carbon, a composite material produced by molding a mixture of carbon fiber and resin, there are individual differences in the pattern, color tone, and distribution/amount of opal specks on the surface of each part (bezel, band, and clasp) for each timepiece. Opal specks are not included in the clasp components.

G-Shock announced today the release of a new addition to the MR-G series, the flagship line of the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the G-SHOCK brand. Honoring the Shougeki-Maru: Gai kabuto helmet, the MRG-B2000SG features the helmet’s maedate crest with a tiger pattern and evokes white ito odoshi,1 which signifies the strong determination of a samurai warrior who stays true to their own convictions. This very special timepiece is offered in a limited edition of only 700 pieces worldwide.
1. Overlaying plates of armor bound together with white string.
Based on the concept of delivering “the ultimate in toughness-driven watches,” the MR-G line is the pinnacle of the G-SHOCK brand, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail and incorporating state-of-the-art technology and master metalworking techniques. This symbolism of strength and functional beauty is equally true of the samurai warrior’s kabuto helmet, and Casio superimposed the two to create an original kabuto helmet, the Shougeki-Maru: Gai, specifically to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the G-SHOCK brand.
In its shock-resistant construction, the MRG-B2000SG embodies the Shougeki-Maru: Gai helmet’s bold determination and features a white band complemented with a bezel engraved by a master metalsmith.
The bezel captures the helmet’s maedate crest with a ferocious tiger design, a symbol of strength, engraved by metalsmith KOBAYASHI Masao. The tiger stripes are expressed in a unique rock-grain relief pattern2 that varies in size and shape.
The pure white band evokes the look of the white ito odoshi of the helmet, representing a pure, unadulterated hue and incorporating a sense of bold determination, the will to be true to oneself. The band is made with fluor rubber, providing flexible fit on the wrist, excellent durability and stain resistance.
The case, made with titanium material, is ion-plated in a dark silver color and finished with a deep-layer hardening process to increase the hardness and bring out the crystalline pattern. These finishes give the watch a rugged look, while reproducing the color of the helmet. The metal plate commemorating the G-SHOCK 40th anniversary on the side of the case, and the screw heads set with rubies, the gem of passion and success, add special touches befitting a special commemorative timepiece.

June 15, 2023 — G-Shock announced today the release of new additions to its line of shock-resistant G-SHOCK watches designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the G-SHOCK brand. The seven CLEAR REMIX models make use of see-through materials for designs that offer a view of the watches’ internal componentry.
The G-SHOCK project began with the idea of developing “a tough watch that wouldn’t break, even if dropped,” a concept that overturned the conventional wisdom of the time. In a process of repeated testing, the construction and materials were redesigned again and again. This tireless pursuit in the face of challenges bore fruit in 1983 with the debut of the G-SHOCK. Casio has since released an array of different G-SHOCK watches that carry on this evolution in function and design. Today, the G-SHOCK brand is loved around the world, with more than 140 million units shipped to date.
The 40th anniversary CLEAR REMIX shock-resistant watches embody the G-SHOCK spirit of challenge in designs that offer a view of the internal componentry, including the module and circuit board. Seven popular G-SHOCK models, including the very first G-SHOCK with its iconic design, have been carefully selected and redesigned with see-through materials used for the case, band, LCD, buttons, and other elements.
Based on the form of the first G-SHOCK, these models feature a see-through LCD, allowing the G mark-adorned circuit board to show through. The DWE-5640RX adds a band in a contrasting mix of resin and metal materials.
The original DW-6900 with its three indicators, now with a see-through LCD, dial, and center case, leaving the G mark pattern on the underlying circuit board subtly visible.
* At certain viewing angles, the interior of the dial may be difficult to see.
These digital-analog combination watches, based on the GA-110 and GMA-S110, feature a see-through center case and see-through resin side buttons for a unified clear color scheme.
These models add a see-through dial to the GA-2100 and GMA-S2100, which feature an octagonal bezel. The index marks and dial ring are also see-through for a clear view of the module below the dial.
The Master of G line of G-SHOCK watches is designed to meet the needs of professionals who work in extreme conditions, delivering superior performance on land, at sea, or in the air with capabilities specially configured for each of these environments. Among these, MUDMAN timepieces, which are optimized for use on land, have been popular for the dust- and mud-resistance they provide.
Designed for professional users such as members of rescue teams who conduct missions in harsh land environments where dirt, sand, mud, dust, or rubble tend to accumulate or are strewn about, the new GW-9500 features a dust- and mud-resistant structure and dual-layer LCD, while still offering a slimmer profile befitting the latest addition to the MUDMAN series.
The new watch’s dual-layer LCD enhances the readability of the digital compass so that it can be used even in environments with poor visibility. The upper layer of the LCD shows the compass bearing with a large, cross-shaped graphic, while the lower layer displays the time and various measurements.
The GW-9500 is intentionally designed with a slimmer profile, as well, to keep it from interfering with arm motion during critical missions. By adopting a structure in which the watch glass is fitted into the bezel and other features, the watch has a profile 3.4 mm slimmer than the previous model.*
* The GW-9300.
To ensure operability, the direct sensor button and front button used for taking and displaying sensor measurements are oversized and designed to keep mud and water out.
By offering MUDMAN and other Master of G timepieces, Casio shows its commitment to supporting first responders and other professionals who work in the harshest of conditions.
]]>This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Casio G-SHOCK brand. The FROGMAN line of shock-resistant diver’s watches, popular for its unique asymmetrical form, also celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Casio is marking these anniversaries with new models. This spring and summer, Casio released the MRG-BF1000R, a timepiece that clads the unique FROGMAN form in titanium, as part of the MR-G line, the flagship line of the G-SHOCK brand.
The MRG-BF1000E builds on the MRG-BF1000R, bringing in a vivid yellow reminiscent of the first-ever FROGMAN color design, for a metal shock-resistant diver’s watch befitting this special double anniversary.
In addition to the vivid yellow used for the band and index marks, the crown, buttons, and screws are treated with gold ion-plating and the part of case back is finished with gold vapor deposition. An interchangeable metal band is included in the package. Painstaking processes of treating each link of the band with an abrasion-resistant deep-layer hardening process and diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating prior to assembly give the band a high-quality, intricate makeup. Packaged in a special box with G-SHOCK 40th and FROGMAN 30th badges, this timepiece is more than just a watch — users can enjoy displaying this limited edition watch as part of their collection of G-SHOCK favorites.
Same as the base model, the hour and minute hands overlap to form a single hand in dive mode, making it easy to see how much dive time has elapsed. The watch’s three dual-coil motors make it easy for users to switch quickly from current time display to dive time display, making this a truly practical diver’s watch.
]]>These 40th anniversary shock-resistant REMASTER BLACK timepieces feature a band imprinted with the names and launch years of past G-SHOCK milestone models. From more than 4,200 models launched over the past 40 years, Casio has chosen 49 G-SHOCK models to represent the innovative advancements in structure, function, materials, and design the brand has delivered over time. These model names are imprinted on the REMASTER BLACK band with a hot-stamping process that impresses the lettering into the band, for a textural, indented effect. The overall design is in G-SHOCK brand black accented with gold-colored stainless steel band loop.
These latest timepieces are based on four perennially popular models: the DW-5600, which inherited the original iconic G-SHOCK shape; the DW-6600, the first G-SHOCK equipped with backlight; the analog-digital combination GA-110; and the GA-2100, with its unique octagonal bezel. The new DWE-5657RE, designed based on the DW-5600, comes with an interchangeable round DW-5700 bezel to deliver the fun of two different looks in one timepiece.
In addition to the anniversary logo engraved on the case back, a star is engraved on the button on the lower left side of the case for three of the models, and on the watch glass at the 40 minute mark for the GA-114RE. On both the DWE-5657RE and the DW-6640RE, the anniversary logo appears when the backlight is lit.
The bezel and band are made with bio-based resins for less environmental impact. The newly developed modules employed in the DWE-5657RE and DW-6640RE provide a high-brightness LED backlight and battery life of five years. The special packaging for these models is made with recycled paper to help promote a circular economy.

]]>G-Shock International announced today the latest additions to the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches. The new MTG-B2000YBD and MTG-B2000XD are part of the MT-G line of watches that feature a construction that makes the most of the properties of both metal and resin, and a bezel component made of multilayer carbon.
The MTG-B2000YBD and MTG-B2000XD are based on the MTG-B2000, which features a Dual Core Guard structure that gives added strength while highlighting the appeal of the materials. The new watches employ a newly developed bezel frame and top made of carbon materials, creating a beautiful exterior design while also reducing weight.
The MTG-B2000YBD has a bezel frame at its sides that is formed by layering and machining multiple carbon and fiberglass sheets. The new bezel frame is 77% lighter than the stainless steel one used in the MTG-B2000. The top-layer carbon sheet is wrapped around the side, and cylindrical carbon sheets are wrapped around the lugs for enhanced durability. A polygonal crown complements the bezel design. Fiberglass layers in G-SHOCK red provide a stylish accent around the sides of the case, with red indicators accenting the watch face.
The bezel top of the MTG-B2000XD has a complex shape made by using advanced pressing and cutting processes on the multilayer carbon material. The side view of the bezel reveals fiberglass layers in an all-new original green, giving the watch a sporty and refined look.
Both new watches feature a layered-composite band made from both metal and fine resin parts. The band is even lighter weight thanks to the new hollow metal components crafted with specialized molding technology. These enable more resin to be used in the back of the band, delivering an even better fit while still retaining the look and luster of metal where it counts.
The MTG-B2000YBD and MTG-B2000XD deliver full-on functionality including radio-controlled time-calibration signal reception and Mobile Link pairing with a dedicated smartphone app, as well as automatic time correction when the paired smartphone is near. A high-brightness LED light maintains watch readability in the dark for optimum convenience.

G-Shock International announced the latest addition to the Master of G line of G-SHOCK shock-resistant watches, which are designed for use in the most extreme conditions. The new MUDMASTER GWG-2000 is the first G-SHOCK to be built with forged carbon, which is both lightweight and strong.
The GWG-2000 is the latest addition to the MUDMASTER series of watches with a dust- and mud-resistant structure designed for use in land environments with lots of dirt, sand, mud, dust, or rubble. For the first time in a G-SHOCK watch, the new GWG-2000 employs forged carbon, a material that is used in aircraft and racing cars.
Forged carbon is a special type of carbon fiber-reinforced resin, a material that is lighter than and has tensile strength superior to stainless steel. With its ability to be pressed into complex shapes, forged carbon is used for the lug connecting the bezel to the band on both sides, structurally protecting the watch face.
Forged carbon is made by kneading fine particles of carbon fiber into resin, which is then forged in a press die at high temperature and pressure. Viewed from certain angles, fine carbon particles are visible on the surface, forming a random black and gray pattern that not only looks appealing but is truly one of a kind.
The watch also features newly developed Mud Resist buttons throughout. The combination of stainless steel button pipes and internal silicone buffer material, which not only absorbs shock but provides a tight seal, ensures even better dust- and mud-resistant performance.
The case is made from lightweight, durable carbon fiber-reinforced resin. The materials and structure have been rearranged to make the case 1.9 mm slimmer than the previous model*. Inspired by professional gear, the band is textured in the style of the no-slip rubber grips seen on specialized vehicles and heavy machinery, and the buttons are knurled for better control, making for a highly functional, powerful tool. The GWG-2000 is available in three colors: stoic monochrome gray, military-look khaki, and sand beige.

The F-100 watch was released in 1978 and was the first Casio quartz watch in a resin case, delivering advanced functionality with a stopwatch and calendar functions.
The new A100WEPC watch is based on the recently released A100 watch, which reprises the design of the original F-100, including the unique four-button front layout. The styling is designed to evoke the fun, retro look of the PAC-MAN game. The watch face features colorful pixelated PAC-MAN and ghost characters, and the center ILLUMINATOR logo is rendered using the PAC-MAN font. The face design faithfully replicates the PAC-MAN game screen, down to details like the pink line marking the exit of the nest from which the ghosts emerge. The gold-plated watch case is inspired by the color of the PAC-MAN arcade game cabinet. The top watch band is laser etched with a rendering of PAC-MAN being chased by ghosts, and the reverse scene with PAC-MAN chasing ghosts is rendered on the bottom band. The case back also features the PAC-MAN logo and icons.
The watch comes with special packaging imprinted with PAC-MAN character icons and the game score screen, to deliver the full look of the PAC-MAN game.
Released in 1980 by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. (then Namco), PAC-MAN became popular for a concept anyone could grasp — eat! — a highly refined game system, colorful graphics, and bright, pop characters running through a maze. Now both the game and its characters have come to represent Japan and have thousands of fans around the world. In 2005, it was recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM as the “most successful coin operated game.” Currently, PAC-MAN can be seen in various endeavors with the theme “Be PAC-TIVE!!”
